Taco Cabana

We went to Taco Cabana last night for diner. Taco Cabana is my favorite of the quick restaurants. Their food has always been good, hot, and not "fast food". There are no other restaurants that serve Tex-Mex in a quick way and do it this good. The closest one to my house is about 10 miles away so I usually only go there once in a while. I went twice in the last three Sundays and the experience was not good. They were very busy and had way too few people working to handle the load. Because of them being busy and understaffed the restaurant was a mess; and with their open kitchen you get to see it in all its glory and horror. Like the Sundays past this night was not good. They did not have as many people waiting but we could tell they were still recovering from the rush. They told us they were out of queso. Now how is that possible? The kitchen, salsa bar and soda bar was a mess. There still had a good ten people waiting for food. We got our food close to 30 minutes later but they were able to find some queso somewhere, so that helped. I did return one taco because it was very cold and "off" tasting.

The problem is there are too few Taco Cabana's around the Richardson, Plano, Allen, Frisco areas (map). The few that are around get killed and their quality suffers. I see this a lot in people that have not had Taco Cabana in Austin or San Antonio they continue to have bad experiences and after a while refuse to go. We need everyone to send an email to Taco Cabana Web Site and let them know that the restaurants currently in the north Dallas area are hurting the chain and they must open more restaurants. I personally will not attend another north Dallas location until they fix there local problems and build more locations.

Isn't work fun!

I create reports for departments at work. I use data that is pulled together from several systems into one database over night. Lately that data has not been finishing until after 9AM or 10AM where they used to finish around 5AM to 6AM. So now we have people all over the company complaining and bitching to us how our reports are not coming out "on time". Of course, we need the people that run the database to get the data for us so we can’t just throw them into the fire. We are left to smooth things out all the while the team pulling the data is blaming us and the requests that we have made of them as the reason the data is late. When we do complain to them they give us the run around about how someone running queries slowed the tables down; and they want to look at our queries so they can make them faster. They never want to really look at the reason the data is out late, they just point fingers and put the focus somewhere else. Makes for annoying days at work; not stressful because I believe you have to feel some sense of being overwhelmed for stress and sitting around looking at websites until the tables are finished does not cause much stress.

First post, Yea!

So I thought about it enough and decided that I will go ahead and start this blog.

The question is do I have anything to say? Currently not much; but from time to time I am sure I will have my moments. At first the concept of a blog seemed wonderful; I get to say anything and people will read it. In reality most blogs go unread. Well, I am ready for that so I am just doing this for my amusement. Hope you have fun too and maybe get some useful info along the way.

I have no rules for the blog; have fun!
