Moving to Nashville
It now seems like it is for sure now that we are moving to Nashville. I say it like that because I am still in a little bit of shock. It is just not like me to change things in my life. The odd thing is I like change. For the most part I am excited about the move. I will not be great to move away from friends and family or to have to sell the house because of all of the work involved. It will be nice to be in a city that has four seasons instead of two. It will also be nice to have new land to explore both in the city and having many new things within driving distance.
For those of you who don’t know the whole store my wife is working on her PhD at UTD in political science. She now really wants to pursue the academic job and would like to start in a better place than she would if she graduated from UTD who has a young political science PhD program. She applied to Vanderbilt University and UNC and was accepted to both but she decided she liked Vanderbilt better. Plus I can keep my job at XO and just transfer to the Nashville office. In North Carolina it would be much harder because XO does not have an office close and the only one in the state was just opened and it would not be easy to move there.
We now have to go through the exercise of getting the house ready to sell. Unfortunately the house is not ready for even close friends to come over. We (I) am still in the middle (of the end) of finishing our hall bathroom remodel. We still have to remodel the master bath, fix broken tile in the kitchen, paint the whole house interior, an pack up a lot of stuff so we don’ look like pack rats.
The bottom line we have a lot to do very little time to finish it and most of our time is already taken up by other crazy things like work, school, sleeping.
If anyone wants to come over and do some work please feel free.
